Do you ever get that nervous feeling leading up to a test or even a vacation?
Next week I’ll be flying out to Scottsdale, Arizona for 5 full days of Jack Canfield and I’ll admit that I’m nervous. Now, I’ve only flown a handful of times, and I’m great with the actual flying part. I even allowed for a whole day of flying, just in case Delta is delayed or there’s an issue with the jet.
So what makes me nervous?
The unknown…….. is what keeps me up at night.
What if I’m picked to speak? What will I speak about?
What if they’re not my tribe?
What if I leave the stove on at home? (Thank goodness Ember will be at home for that one)
Dave, Do you ever do that? Worry about things that you have no control over?
On one hand, it drives me to prepare.
On the other hand, will that preparation be good enough?
Heck, I even started planning 2 weeks ago, what clothes I need to pack and how to pack them.
If I’m one of the lucky ones to speak, my Tuesday night LIVE show on FaceBook has given me lots of experience and topics to speak about. If you haven’t seen the show click the links at the bottom of the page. The full unedited shows and smaller edited versions are all on my YouTube channel also.
There are 2 things I have learned about nervousness.
1) It’s energy! So if I connect that energy to one of my superpowers (helping others/coaching, writing, speaking), it will intensify the one I’m focused on.
2) It’s normal! Everyone gets nervous. Breathe and focus on #1.
Oh, one more thing……SMILE!
It looks great on you!
