You’re not Getting Older, You’re Getting Wiser

For the first ten years of my adult life, I managed retail stores.
Weekends, Holidays, Birthdays, I worked them all. I “drank the Kool-Aid” as fast as they could fill my glass.
Because… I had a plan.
I watched the supervisors above me and emulated the good habits while noting the bad habits.
Because… I had a plan.
My plan was… (insert drum roll here)… to own a retail store.

So in (cough, cough) 1993, I opened a consignment clothing store with about $100.
Fast forward 13 years later, I sold the business for $100,000.
Not the building, Not the fixtures…but the business system.
More important than that, I got wiser!

Take a moment today and make a list of all the things you’ve gotten “wiser” about over the last 10 years. For an example, here’s some of mine: How to get the best mortgage=I’ve purchased and refinanced 3 homes, How to qualify for Medicaid=My mother had Alzhiemer’s and we had to enroll her in Medicaid to get the proper care, How to Start a Business=I’ve started businesses.

That list is your magical superpower list!
You can take that list and make one of those into a business because of your experience.

My superpower is focused on creating JOY in other peoples lives, careers, or businesses.
Because…as I got wiser…I found the common denominator for all of us, is to live a joyful life.

So, if you think you’re too old to share your wisdom, you can.
If you think you can’t change careers to something more passionate, you can.
If you think you can’t start a business, you can.

Just replace “older” with “WISER”!
Share your wisdom!
